IALA Welcomes New Consul General

The Italian American Lawyers Assn., at its Oct. 8 meeting, extended a welcome to the Republic of Italy’s new consul general in Los Angeles, Folco de Luca Gabrielli.

Gabrielli, who is a lawyer, offered brief remarks, and accepted an IALA lapel pin presented by President Jo-Ann Grace.

The consul general was born in Rome on Sept. 6, 1947. He completed classical studies in 1966, and obtained his law degree from the University of Milan in 1971.

He practiced in Milan, and then pursued post-graduate legal studies in Belgium.

Gabrielli entered diplomatic service in 1974, and spent the past four years as consul general in Hong Kong.

He has been present at various events staged by the Italian American community, including the Oct. 12 dinner of the Federated Italo-Americans of Southern California at which Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Crispo received the Columbian Award.
