Roast of Judge Robert Mallano

Casa Italiana was packed for a June 16, 1993 roast (and salute) to then-Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert M. Mallano, now a justice of the Court of Appeal. Unpretentious, scholarly, and fair-minded, he is highly regarded by members of the bar and judiciary.

Mallano is helped into his Italian judge's robe by then-President Dale La Casella.

Emcee Charles Frisco, then a judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court (since retired), relinquishes podium to Mallano.

Among the posters adorning walls of Casa Italiana the night of the roast was the one above, depicting a young Mallano and his brother's jalopy.
