To Our Members and Friends,

If you are reading this, then you are either an IALA member, or thinking of joining. If you are an IALA member, then you already know that our monthly meetings offer great speakers, great food, and great friends. If you are not yet an IALA member, please join us! You need only be Italian in spirit once a month!

This year promises to once again be terrific, with our Second Annual “Hall of Fame” Night, honoring Judge Larry Crispo, Met News Publisher Roger Grace, and Court of Appeal Justice Robert Mallano. March brings “The 2008 Race for the White House,” with speaker Michael Dukakis, and April has our traditional “Gaelic & Garlic Night,” with the Irish American Bar Association. Future events this year will include “A Night with the United States Central District Bench,” “A Salute to Our Veterans,” which will be a special night honoring Gulf War Veterans and their families, and “The IALA Founders Night, and 30th Anniversary Celebration.” We will, of course, continue with our traditional “Marco Polo Night” with the Chinese and Japanese Bars, the popular “Wine Tasting Night,” and our annual “Night with the California Supreme Court.”

So many people, too many to name, deserve special recognition for their contributions to IALA over the years, including our Founders and past Presidents. With the passing of Founder Gene Carloni this year, we remember how grateful we are for those who have come before us, and hope that those who come after us will have the same respect for us that we have for wonderful people like Gene.
